Laurel and Company Holiday Camp

Hi! My name is Laurel and Miss Maggy named the Holiday Camp after me. Won't you come in and check it out?
It all starts with selecting patterns, shopping for fabric, prewashing our yardage and cutting. Eva likes the sound of scissors cutting fabric and she is very precise.
Japser made a cool pair of pants-black brushed cotton underlined with a plaid cotton flannel. (That was his idea.) Getting up on the big table helped him with his cutting.
I've got everything pinned and cut, now to make some tailor's tacks to mark the pocket placement.
I don't know which we like better, sewing or wearing our creations. Eva brought the Kenmore her mom bought from the Bobbin Doctor so she could get used to it with Maggy's guidance. We all love to use the sergers. Jasper got to use the commercial one for his heavy pants.

I love Simplicity patterns! My dress was a Junior's Design Studio pattern and Eva's was a Project Runway pattern--you can mix and match design elements to create your own look!

Jasper made a bag from some of his leftover fabric. Here he is winding some cord for the drawstring. It looks like he went fishing and just caught the big one. Although there is a lot of snow outside I'm already looking forward to the Spring Break Camp!
