Return to Gallery SEWING 101 - AUGUST SESSION
Ironing fabric prior to cutting
This was the camp that got away from me. Six strong-willed girls, some of whom my assistant for the week said would undoubtedly run for president some day, all wanting something different. The only one who finished her project by 2:00 on Friday was also the only one I didn't get a finished picture of. Two made different views of the same top which featured am empire waist, narrow straps and a lapped zipper. One made a darling dress with a flared skirt; the bodice and sleeves were lined and it had a lapped zipper. Two others did alternate views of the same top pattern, one had sleeves gathered at the armseye and hem, the other had a smooth cap sleeve (she is from Venezuela and requested her picture not be posted). Both had an empire waist with a gathering detail at the center front of the bodice. And last but not least was a lovely blue dress with a three-part sleeve, lots of lace trim and a lapped zipper.
