On the first day of camp learn the parts and functions of a sewing machine and become confident in your ability to operate it as you make a drawstring pouch. Once you understand the basics it is on to pattern and fabric selection and learning to read and follow pattern layout and assembly instructions. As you cut and construct your first major sewing project the foundation is being laid for a lifetime of joyful stitching. Class includes a field trip to my neighborhood fabric store Treadle Yard Goods. Camper should bring a bag lunch and $50 on the second day to purchase supplies.

If you want to become a better seamster you have to sew, sew, sew! Under the direction of encouraging guides this camp helps you strengthen your confidence as you expand your sewing skills -- perfect for someone who has made at least one project using a commercial pattern or has just completed Sewing 101.
