SUMMER CAMPS - 2007
Some camps inspired words while others left me speechless. Click the links below for photos of works-in-progress as well as finished projects.
SEWING 101
This is a beginner's camp. The first day kids get acquianted with their machines and sew a drawstring pouch. In the four subsequent days they select patterns, go to the fabric store, prepare their fabric, then cut and sew their projects. The question "When will I finish?" is soon replaced with "I'm wearing this out of here on Friday!"
AND SEW ON
The only way to get better is to practice, practice, practice! This is the camp for advanced beginners and although I gave the kids more leeway in choosing patterns they found things went smoother when they all sewed the same design.
THEME CAMPS
These camps meandered down some sewing-related paths. (Lack of pictures for certain projects indicate teacher intensive days.)
