We love cotton! It is a friendly fabric to work with and a comfort to wear. Found in both knits and wovens there are a seemingly endless variety of types and textures.

Waffle Knits

The name says it all. Used primarily for shirts, though customers have turned out some great cardigans and sweats sets as well. We stock organic cotton solid waffle knits with coordinating ribbing as well as 95% Cotton/5% Spandex prints.

Stretch Cords

98% Cotton/2% Spandex gives you a touch of stretch in fabulous colors. We’ve got both 8 (wide) and 21 (pin) wales. Its versatile weight makes great pants, jackets, skirts and dresses

Ribbed w/Spandex

These ribbings are wider than our cuff and neckband ribbings. Intended for garments, they come in Cotton/ Spandex as well as Cotton/TENCEL™/ Spandex.

Shirtings

Mostly deadstock here, from Armani to Tommy Hilfiger as well as unknowns. Some are pima cotton and widths range from 45” to 60”.

Stretch Twills

A lovely pima cotton sateen twill with 4% Spandex, this bottom weight fabric makes great pants and jackets. Available in black, navy, grey and three neutrals, it washes and wears beautifully.

Seersucker fabrics in blue, black and red

Traditional Seersucker

Japanese seersucker is 100% mercerized cotton with a puckery finish. 58/60” wide, it is perfect for tops, loungewear and children and infant wear.

Pima Cotton Broadcloth

100% Combed Mercerized Pima Cotton with a luxurious, wrinkle resistant finish. Woven yarn dyed, 45” wide. Soft touch and nice drape.

Jacquards

We cannot keep these jacquards in stock! A blend of cotton, viscose and linen they are great for jackets, dresses, tops and pants.

Lawns

We love the fine light weave of cotton lawn. The perfect weight for a light blouse or summer dress lining.

Pima Shirtings

Pima cotton shirtings feature yarn dyed stripes, which means the reverse side looks as good as the front. Use for traditional buttoned shirts or let your imagination roam.

Japanese Prints

Contemporary prints on dobby weaves, sheeting and seersucker. Japanese dyes are phenomenal!

Flannel is a soft woven, medium-weight cotton fabrics, with a napped, fuzzy, finish in varying fineness. Perfect for tartan clothing, blankets, bed sheets, and sleepwear.

Flannels

A double-brushed cotton flannel, these wear and wash like a dream. Use for sleepwear, a cozy winter top or even a quilt backing.

Gingham fabrics light-weight, cotton, in the classic two-color checked patterns.

Ginghams

Cotton ginghams in 1/8” and 1/4” scale. A smooth weave, these work well for tops, dresses and trims.

Double Gauzes

So very soft, these crinkly double gauzes work well for tops and loose pants. 100% organic cotton, machine washable.

Gauzes

100% combed mercerized cotton with a permanent crinkle. In white, ivory and black. Machine washable, 50/52” wide.

Cotton Velveteen

100% mercerized combed cotton with a twill finish, our velveteen has a soft touch, nice drape and is machine washable. 55/56” wide.

Charley Harper prints are a unique style of bold nature illustrations referred to as minimal realism and produced wildlife prints using the silkscreen process on 100% certified organic cotton.

Charlie Harper

While these are available in quilter’s cotton we chose an organic cotton poplin substrate for our Charlie Harper prints. Machine washable, 45” wide.

Cotton poplin fabrics have a plain weave with very fine horizontal “ribs” that results in a strong, crisp fabric with a silky, lustrous surface offers a certain luxurious quality to sewing projects.

A smooth, tight weave and silky finish characterize poplin. Use for tops, skirts, dresses and children’s clothing.

Chambray cotton fabrics are medium-weight, made with a dyed warp yarn and a white filling yarn in a range of subtle colors that make them perfect for summer wear.

Chambray has a smooth linen weave, with warp and weft threads of differing colors. Offers a soft touch with nice drape and is suitable for tops, dresses and skirts as well as baby and children’s clothing. 60/62” wide.
